Banking on KIDS - About Dr. Anhalt
BANKING ON KIDS was created by Dr. Edward F. Anhalt. Dr. Anhalt felt that with the average 50 year old American having only $2,500 in their savings account, and with the nation spending $65 for every $1.00 saved ... it was time to start teaching the merits of “saving for the future”. What better place to start than the elementary/middle school classroom, where students still haven’t come into contact with the ATM Machine or “savings withdrawal slips”.
Dr. Anhalt earned his Bachelors Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI, After returning from the Peace Corps in Shiraz, Iran he decided to pursue advanced studies in the discipline of education. He earned a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, WI. He followed that by earning his Doctorate of Education from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, NJ. He completed a post doctorate program at Lehigh University-Bethlehem, PA.
Dr. Anhalt has served on the faculty of Rutgers University, Douglas College, Muhlenberg College...and for seventeen years taught in the College of Business and Management at Cardinal Stritch University.
His academic endeavors have found him on the Governors Taskforce for the School To Work Initiative, involved with the National Association of Partners In Education, a board member of the Milwaukee Public School Innovative School Committee, and a Board Member of Engineers and Scientists of Milwaukee and the Sally Ride Academy. He has been an honorary member of Phi Delta Kappa since 1978.
Dr. Anhalt started his own advertising/marketing firm Just Like Downtown, Inc. thirty years ago and has produced over 150 special events in the areas of food, sports, and education. He takes great pride in his Banking On Kids program, which he sees as being mutually beneficial to schools, students, parents, as well as financial institutions.
The Banking on Kids program is so much more than providing a formal basic financial education for children in the classroom through a sponsoring financial institution. We understand that parents and educators alike may wish to proceed at home or in their own classroom with providing some basic financial education. We can now provide directly to parents and educators the information they need to work with and educate children. This can be done in conjunction with a formal classroom curriculum or independently, by concerned parents. If you would like to receive information on how we can provide you with the tools necessary to teach children about basic money concepts and help them understand how they can manage their money, use this special email link below to submit your request.
Thank you for visiting us today and please let your children's teachers, educators and your bank representatives know that you want them provide a Banking on Kids program at your school.
Dr. Anhalt is presently the Dean of Education at International University for Graduate Studies (www.iugrad.com). Previously he served on the faculty of Rutgers University, Douglas College, Muhlenberg College, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Cardinal Stritch University. He is also the author of the book “Raise Your GPA! Full Grade”, and is presently writing a text “Taxpayers, Parents, Citizens You Need to Read This Book Now: Why our public schools are failing, and the necessary solutions to fix them.”
